Festival FAQ

How do I get discounted tickets to the festival?
If you purchase your tickets by May 31, you can take advantage of Early Bird Pricing and save $5 per ticket! You can also save money by becoming a Susquehanna Folk Music Society member (see our online application on the festival website).

I don’t have my tickets yet. Can I buy them at the gate when I get there?
Yes. You will be able to use cash or credit card to purchase tickets at the front gate. You also pick up will-call tickets at the front gate.

Will I be getting a wristband?
Yes. All ticket purchasers, volunteers, and artists will be given a wristband at the gate. You must wear the wristband while at the festival and be prepared to show it to security volunteers at various wristband checkpoints. Lost wristbands will not be replaced.

Do children need to have a ticket?
No, children 12 and under are admitted free; however, they will still be required to wear a wristband.

Can I visit the craft area without buying a ticket?
No, the craft area is part of the festival grounds and you must purchase a ticket to enter the festival grounds.

Do you allow refunds for tickets?
Tickets are non-refundable.

Is the festival rain or shine?
Yes, the festival is rain or shine. All stages will be indoors or under tents.

When does the festival gate open each day?
The festival gate opens at 9:30 am on both Saturday and Sunday.

I am a volunteer. Where do I go?
When arriving at the festival, go to the VIP area at the front gate to pick up your volunteer packet.

What if I need medical attention at the festival?
EMTs will be available in the first aid building during festival hours.

Can I use credit or debit cards to purchase food, beverages, and merchandise at the festival?
You will be able to use a credit or debit cards to purchase food, beverages, festival merchandise and CDs, but some craft vendors may accept cash only.

What if I get thirsty while at the festival?
There is cold, filtered water available near the snack bar on the second floor of the main lodge for your use. Please bring a water bottle. Bottled water will also be for sale.

Are their reserved seats at the festival?
No, seating at the festival will be available on a first come, first served basis. Out of fairness to others, please do not put items on seats to save them while visiting other areas of the festival.

Should I bring a lawn chair or blanket?
While seating will be provided at the festival, you may be more comfortable bringing your own lawn chair or blanket. If desired you are welcome to check your chair during any part of the festival or overnight in the instrument check area. Items left behind will be donated to local charities.

Will canopies be allowed?
Yes, canopies will be allowed in Minuteman Field. Please be respectful of those around you and set your canopy away from the Main Stage.

Is the festival site accessible to persons with disabilities?
Yes, the festival is fully handicapped accessible, although disabled persons should consult the festival map to see how find ramped access. Reasonable accommodations will be made for persons with disabilities. Please e-mail us with special requests at concerts@sfmsfolk.org no later than two weeks before the festival.

Is smoking allowed at the festival?
There will be one smoking area set up near the crafts, but no smoking or tobacco products will be allowed anywhere else on the festival grounds.

Where do I park?
There will be ample free parking at the festival. While most parking is close by, the North Parking lot is a little farther away. We recommend wearing comfortable shoes and bringing a flashlight. Handicapped parking will be available for those with a permit.

What kinds of family activities will you have?
Consult the festival schedule to find out about all the fun activities and crafts that we will have for young people and their families. We aim to be one of the most family-friendly festivals you will ever come to!

What kinds of food and beverages are offered on festival grounds?
Concessions at Roundtop Mountain Resort will be provided by Altland House Catering in the Main Lodge Food Court. The menu will include a variety of sandwiches, wraps, burgers, salads, and snacks. Vegetarian choices will also be available.

Can I bring my own cooler with food and drinks to the festival?
Yes, you can bring a cooler onto the festival grounds. All coolers will be checked at the main gate as a safety precaution. We do not allow you to bring in alcohol, and we ask that no beverage or food be brought in glass containers.

Will alcohol be available on the festival grounds?
Yes. Craft beer and wine from local wineries will be available for purchase after 6 pm on Saturday and after 5 pm on Sunday.

How should I pack for the festival?
Plan for hot weather during the day, and slightly cooler weather at night. Bring rain gear in case of inclement weather, and sunscreen to avoid sunburn. You may choose to bring your own lawn chair, blanket, or canopy. We suggest wearing comfortable shoes.

Can I bring my dog?
Only certified assistance dogs will be allowed with proper credentials. No other pets are allowed at the festival.

What is included in the price of my ticket?
Your ticket price includes free parking; access to all festival activities and amenities on the festival grounds, including programming on 5 stages; and a free official festival program!

What can’t I bring to the festival?
No alcohol, drugs, firearms, pets, animals (except certified assistance dogs), unauthorized video or audio recording, glass containers, drones, Segways or hoverboards will be permitted on the festival grounds.
