APPLY BY JUNE 13, 2019!

Love telling tall tales and shaggy dog stories?  Enter the Liars Contest at the second annual Susquehanna Folk Festival! The contest will be held on Sunday, July 28th, 2019 from 3:00-4:30 pm and will be emceed by master hogwasher Bil Lepp, five-time champion of the West Virginia Liars’ Contest.

The Liars Contest is a juried competition.  Storytellers must apply and submit a video representative of their work.  Ten contestants will be selected to participate in the competition at the festival. Each contestant will receive two complimentary Sunday festival tickets.

At the competition, each contestant will have 7 minutes onstage to tell a humorous, family-friendly story. A panel of three expert judges will award cash prizes to the top three liars: $100 for first place, $75 for second, and $50 for third.

Submit your application by June 13, 2019. Include a link to a video representative of your work: this need not be the story you compete with. We will notify the ten finalists by June 15th, and at that point, we'll ask you to send a photo of yourself.
