Emerging Artist Showcase Finalists Announced

The Susquehanna Folk Festival is proud to welcome our five Emerging Artist Showcase finalists for 2019!  The showcase spotlights acts that have not yet become well known on the folk concert or festival circuits.  Head over to the Coffeehouse Stage on Saturday morning, July 27 and catch their performances along with our judging panel.  The winning act will take the Main Stage at 5:15 Saturday evening.

The showcase kicks off at 10:30 with Box of Books, an alt-folk band from West Chester, PA. They combine traditional folk instrumentation with contemporary indie-rock songwriting and "folked up" covers.

Next up, at 11:20, is Hannah Bingman, an award-winning singer-songwriter from State College, PA.  Hannah's creative guitar style and thoughtful songwriting has earned her honors in many area competitions, including a couple of SFMS's.

Philadelphia's Katherine Rondeau takes the stage at 11:50.  Katherine is a full-throttle singer-songwriter who focuses her passion for classic folk music through a thoroughly modern lens.

At 12:30 we'll hear from Austin MacRae, a deft fingerpicker and poetic troubadour from the legendary folk scene of Ithaca, New York.

Then at 1:10 The Quixote Project wraps up the showcase, a roots-music outfit that pulls from traditional genres to blur the lines of modern music. They come from Mt Laurel, New Jersey.

Enjoy the showcase, cheer for your new favorite bands, and enjoy the festival!
