Introducing Caroline Keane: Finalist #3

Caroline Keane, holding a concertina, gazes to her right with a big smile. She's wearing a vibrant gold sweater and her dark hair curls over her shoulders.

Caroline is one of five finalists in our 2020 Emerging Artist Showcase, to be live-streamed on August 9.

Caroline Keane was exposed to a wealth of traditional music from a very young age. Growing up in Limerick, Ireland, she was surrounded by the musical richness of both Clare and Sliabh Luachra, influences which have become the cornerstone of her uniquely vibrant, passionate and emotive style of concertina playing. (And yes, she still lives in Ireland, and will be performing in our showcase from there!) Since 2013, she has been a member of the group FourWinds, whose performances have been described as “An exciting landscape of tunes and lyrics that present Irish traditional music in a modern and creative context”. While touring extensively as a member of FourWinds and other duo projects, Caroline has found the time to curate, compile and present Shine, her own debut collection.  Find her on BandCamp and Facebook.

Visit her Profile Page for sneak-peek video, links and more.

Join us on August 9 at 7pm for the livestream, and vote for your favorite act.  The Showcase can be viewed here on the festival website, or on YouTube or Facebook.
