Tall Tales Workshop at Red Land Community Library

This is a FREE workshop, but participants must pre-register by March 23, 2019. See below for details.

Do you like to tell stories? Do you naturally embellish the truth? Would you like to win $100? If you answered yes to these questions, come to this workshop where you'll engage in exercises to help you develop and present a dynamic story. The workshop will be led by Janet Bixler, host of Untitled Harrisburg, the city's original storytelling / story slam project.

The workshop will guide you through...

  • choosing a true event from your life
  • experimenting with techniques on how to embellish and exaggerate your true story
  • playing with storytelling games to enhance your presentation style
  • getting on your feet and practicing telling your very own true Tall Tale

So: want to win $100? This workshop will provide you with the skills and confidence needed to apply for a spot in our LIARS CONTEST. And with a little luck you might be chosen to compete for the $100 prize on July 28th!  Deadline to apply for the Liars Contest is May 1, 2019.  Full info is on our Liars Contest page.
