Meet the Masters: Michael Doucet of BeauSoleil

Michael Doucet
Coffeehouse Stage Sunday, 11:30 am to 12:00 pm

Michael Doucet (BeauSoleil) is perhaps the single most important figure in the revitalization of Cajun music in the United States. A founding member of BeauSoleil, he has done extensive research to document the master fiddlers of the region around Lafayette, Louisiana. He is a National Heritage Fellowship Recipient.

“Meet the Masters” are a series of artist interviews in front of a live audience. The interviews are conducted by our festival intern David Misal, an American Studies doctoral student at Penn State, Harrisburg. The "Meet the Masters" program is intended to give audiences the opportunity to learn about the lives and music of celebrated folk masters.
