We all need a little hopeful news, right? We have posted the schedule for the 2020 Susquehanna Folk Festival and it's pretty fantastic -- starting off Friday evening with a concert featuring Cumberland Honey and Colebrook Road, and a contra dance with Wild Asparagus! Lots of workshops, lots of jamming, and of course LOTS of performances. New this year is a Festival Youth Band program for kids age 6-16. Check it out! Read more...

Songs, Crankies, and Appalachian Rhythm Toys with Box and String

Come see what families made and played with, back in the days before television and cell phones.

A "crankie" is a box with a window cut into it, and a spindle on each side, and hand-cranks to pull a roll of art-covered paper from one spindle to the other.  When the cranks are turned, the crankie shows a scrolling series of pictures that illustrate a story.  Come see it in action!
